Bloody hell. I made myself laugh there.

Still, the league cup isn't on the same planet as the FA cup. How could someone think that? Who gets excited about the first round of the league cup drawn in some beer company in Thailand?. Who watches the first round draw if the FA cup? What can produce games like shaw lane? Games like the one against Liverpool which helped inspire us to the title that year..

There's no comparisons

He didn't seem too fussed about acknowledging the tremendous away fans today.

Great team performance. We matched them throughout and probably deserved to scrape a win overall.
Credit to the management, team and supporters. A good day had by all.

In person I mean. Players came over at the end but no management unless I'm mistaken.

I only listened to the commentary, but if accurate then it was a crime by Angol to dither when he got his golden chance. Since when did a striker presented with a good chance have to decide whether to shoot or lay off? I can forgive Anderson for not finishing as it's not his main job.
I hope that Evans is going to work on the whole team for being shot-shy, a trend that I'm still noticing despite the occasional brave effort.

Having said that, I'm really proud of being a Stags fan today after hearing them match a top Championship side at their own place.

We were great today, proud day to be a Stags fan. Every player worked very hard and fully deserved at least a replay.

Macdonald was the best midfielder on the pitch today, and Mellis has surely put to bed the idea he doesn't work hard, them two in the middle have been great for 3/4 games now and I hope they continue to start together.

Pearce and Bennett were also top class. I think Pearce is the best defender I've seen at Mansfield in my years watching the Stags, become so dependable in the past year or so. Hope we get a good tie and a big home crowd for replay.

Same can be said about playing West Ham, Liverpool, Wimbledon.

Anyway it’s your opinion and it’s been challenged but for me FA Cup has more magic than the league cup in my personal opinion.

The way I see it it's quite straightforward. He's saying get behind the team, the players will respond, and let's see how far we can all go together. John Radford said basically the same in the programme notes on Monday. I interpreted John Radford's programme notes (the last section) as - don't shout abuse if a substitution is made that you don't agree with, because that's what he was referring to. John Radford talked about "sticking together" and "being as one". If some fans are going to go against that, then we're not all as one.

I think that there was a little confusion at the last home match, when Stags fans booed Carlisle's Richie Bennett (and the ref) as they approached the IGL, after the dubious penalty was taken.

I could be wrong, but I got the impression that Steve Evans thought that the booing was aimed at him. If others agree, perhaps it's time to clarify to him that the "boo boys" amount to a couple of people who got carried away with a misunderstanding about a substitution once and have since realised their stupid mistake.

I reminds me of a certain Stags goalkeeper many years ago who complained about being subject to abuse. I was there at the time (although keeping quiet!) and he misunderstood the banter completely, taking umbrage for no good reason.
