Cardiff City's FA Cup draw was predictable but these rehearsal pictures show it could have been much more exciting

The Bluebirds drew Mansfield Town at home in the 3rd round but it was different in the rehearsal

I think it's fair to say that they're underwhelmed too..

still looking on the bright side...it's a chance to get the inflatable sheeps out again.

in fact how's about we get a giant one like this?... it would come in handy in April as well

Talking of the Beeb, anyone notice before the draw they showed a montage of league two and non-league clubs who have made it to the 3rd round draw (goals from the weekend's games).

County, Wycombe, Newport, Luton, Woking were all featured, but Mansfield... yep they forgot about us.

someone doesn't like us in the BBC, would love it if we won and was the lowest team left in the competition. They would hate it and have to show us on tv

Not going to be a big payday for the club, unless we get through. There wont be many home fans there, going on past attendances v lower league clubs. Slightly preferential to drawing Gillingham away, but thats about it.

Much more chance of beating Gillingham though.

Why all the self_indulgant feeling Sorry for ourselves. Yes it would have been good to have a West Ham repeat. Cardiff are second in the Championship. Possible giant killing. After over 50yrs of supporting the Stags, take nothing for granted. Our team will do Mansfield proud.

Yes but it won't be a giant killing if we win will it.
No-one will bat an eyelid.

They aren't giants. Their fans aren't interested,
it will be a mostly empty stadium and they'll play their
reserves.

Well if you put it that way easy win and onwards to round 4

Empty stadium - check
New stadium for most - check
Stags fans making all the noise - check

Sound familiar? This has Coventry type game written all over it. Remind me what happened there? Best away day so far this season (even beats lincoln), get behind them and we can win it.

On the plus side focus is gonna still be on the league, looooon will now have 1 eye on Newcastle game so hopefully it is a distraction to them because they ain't going to want to get injured or suspended leading up to it.

Let me see. I know. They will chose a typical Cash League game they could televise any week of the season. Liverpool v Everton?

At least Cardiff will almost certainly play their reserves, so a chance we will turn them over.

Pleased Big Al's team got a worse draw than us. Ours could've been a lot worse.

Do you ever have anything positive to say? Duck me

Just because the game isn't in London and isn't easy for you to get to, doesn't mean you have to moan every five minutes about the draw

Decent draw in my opinion, there second in the championship and ex premier league. A great chance for little Mansfield to cause an upset.

I watched the Newport first round game on the Sun and although the coverage was ok the commo was hard to understand, it sounded all Welsh to me.

If you were doing a practice draw, you'd put the ball back in the pot though, wouldn't you?

I half wanted to go down to Slough, find Jermaine Jenas and give him a slap.

Cardiff away is about as appealing as an ingrowing toenail, but hey - we're here - we've got some money from the draw so far and make the most of it.

It could be worse (somehow)

Great win down at Brighton. E-On sponsored it at the time and paid for a coach from Mansfield to Brighton but nobody clicked on, 4 of us booked on and there was on 7 of us including the driver on a 60 seater coach, weird journey down!

Think Hamshaw scored?

I remember it well Stoney , we watched your Max & Paddy DVD on way down lol

And the SSA bus left the ground at the same time but our bus turned up first, Mr important Andy Saunders tried to stop us getting on the coach even though it had sweet FA to do with him. I wonder if he will be doing the same for Cardiff? :ugeek:

It was a great away day though, I remember being miles away from the net and it slinging it down and we had the giant yellow and blue flag that we took refuge under. One of our goals involved about 30 passes.
