Good point well made.

Also people assume we going down there to have our bellies tickled, do you think Evans is gonna do that against Warnock?

Chance of an upset and chance to progress.

Stop moaning and get yourselves bloody down there to support the boys!
Well said. The antics on the touch line worth the admission alone. A Championship side away wil be incentive to SE to show he can still cut it at that level. Far better than Luton or F Green away.

Really, Loooun away would have a bigger crowd

Yes bigger crowd, but I'm sick of playing the team who think they are the greatest team in the universe. To be honest didn't want to play a league 2 side.

Cardiff is a great weekend away.
I hope many are wrong about how many will be there.

And another post:

Gives our reserves a decent chance of progressing us to the next round. At least the BBC won't move it to a stupid time like 6.00 on a sunday evening as they are bound to want to cover the Newport county v Leeds game.

Should at least be 3pm on the Saturday

------

Even they aren't taking it seriously, genuine chance for an upset here. The boys can't choose who they draw, all we can do as fans is show our support (in numbers) and get them into round 4!!!

Tasty tie on (and off?) the pitch.
They will make changes so that they can concentrate on getting into Premier league.
New ground for Stags, and most Stags fans, so hopefully we can sell at least half of the 1800 tickets and put some bad memories of Cardiff to bed. They normally get 16-18 thousand at home games so we’ll get a decent income even if they have half of that. Ok, not as good as a televised game but we could have had Rochdale, Newport or Forest Green...
Let’s go and beat them and then get a proper big tie in the next round.

If we opened the gates for free we’d struggle to get 5/6k for the likes of Mansfield unfortunately.

A crap league two side vs our second string doesn’t wet the whistle for most.

Natural reaction because (like most )they wanted one of the elite prem sides. So to get us, my guess is they are bitterly disappointed.

Newport v Leeds has also been drawn.

Surely one of the 2 games will be moved? No chance are police going to keep their eye out for Leeds in Cardiff centre aswell, it's only 20 mins or so away.

S4C have precious few opportunities to show their league clubs. They have shown Newport already. They may want an opportunity to show Cardiff.

Really hope they don't make it a 12:30 kick off or something daft for that Welsh channel. Would make it an even worse tie

Beat me to it  Bless Stephen!

Rubbish draw, JR deserved better than to draw them. Let's hope the cocky sh1ts do play their reserves, better still, their U21s.

Last time we made 4th round we had a similar 3rd round draw.

When we were walking out of the Harrogate Railway game we heard Brighton away and felt disappointed but we went and beat them and getting soaked in the uncovered seating miles from the pitch.
We might win against Accrington next time.

Went to Ninian Park once for a Friday night game when I was in Blandford.

Foggiest game. Ever.

Great win down at Brighton. E-On sponsored it at the time and paid for a coach from Mansfield to Brighton but nobody clicked on, 4 of us booked on and there was on 7 of us including the driver on a 60 seater coach, weird journey down!

Think Hamshaw scored?

Who's to say he won't get better in round 4, not even kicked a bloody ball yet and some are talking as if we're already out.

Understand that to some its underwhelming because we didn't get a top premier league team, we got a decent championship side that have no more right to be in round 4 than we do.

Its been 5 years since we last got to this stage and we probably have more chance against Cardiff of progressing than we ever did against the likes of premier leagues sides Leicester, Newcastle, Middlesbrough and Liverpool - all of which we pushed close. We are Mansfield and if Neil Warnock wants to play his reserves let him because we will be ready to cause an upset.

Support the boys, support the town and support the country. :D

Up the stags.

Just checked, Hamshaw first then Holmes got the winner!

Got there late and couldn’t see a thing. Raced back to get a pint in Harvey’s afterwards.

The game will be a sideshow. It will be a contest of ‘Who can be the more obnoxious manager’? Our own Stevie Evans or Colin W****r (best footballing anagram ever).

Hoping that their reserves won’t be up for it and we sneak a two nil win. Am going with Von Trap if he has not spent all his Christmas money

Talking of the Beeb, anyone notice before the draw they showed a montage of league two and non-league clubs who have made it to the 3rd round draw (goals from the weekend's games).

County, Wycombe, Newport, Luton, Woking were all featured, but Mansfield... yep they forgot about us.
