Direites away at Fleetwood in the Chickenfeed

Postby stagmanrob » Wed Nov 29, 2017 10:18 pm

They scraped through on pens after City were down to 9 kids and actually took the lead

Without knowing the dates, this apparently puts them through against Fleetwood away.

Does this coincide with us away at Blackpool and hence it being a problem with regards to Stone Island clad knuckle draggers re-enacting The Football Factory on the North Pier?

from what I saw on twitter, Man City academy had a player sent off after 76 mins and that was all. Are you sure they were down to 9?

Chesterfield made surprisingly few changes from Saturday I thought (only four changes in total).

Fleetwood vs Chesterfield in Rd 2 is next Tuesday. I might go along if I can't find a decent non-league game in the area.

I wouldn't have thought there will be too many away fans at either game

Lincoln v Accy may be a better bet Martin. Or Harrogate v Kiddy. Besides some people may get the wrong idea. :)

I'm staying near Blackpool. I don't want a long drive.

To correct my earlier post, the Man City website confirms they went down to 9 men in stoppage when they were 2-1 up as a player limped off having already had one sent off and used all their subs, and Chesterfield then equalised against 9 men.

From the Derbyshire Times feed Martin, just to clarify, they had a player hobble off injured whilst having used all 3 substitutions. They were down to 9 men because of that, and went 2-1 up after this had occurred

They only made 4 changes from their team on Saturday too.

The fact that a team can qualify due to a ‘bonus point’ awarded following a penalty shoot out win against nine men in a drawn game speaks volumes about the competition.

Complete and utter belmer football.

It is only like winning a penalty shoot out in an FACup replay
We might win against Accrington next time.

A penalty shoot out in a Cup Replay only affects the two sides playing who both have an equal chance in said shootout. The Chickfeed Cup allows for another team, based on a belmered version of the Duckworth Lewis, to progress.

Another victory for the Premier League and their, ‘we will sell it to you and you will buy our brand’ mentality.

Chesterfield’s penalty shoot out the other night only affected them and Man City as the shoot out was to decide who finished second and who finished third.

You forgot to mention the late goal conceded too. It's getting to be a habit of late.

5 out of the last 6 now they've conceded at least 2.

Going to check the betting lines for Barnet over 1.5 team goals for Saturday. Akinde, Campbell-Ryce, Akpa-Akpro and Coulthirst all have the kind of pace and/or power that are capable of having a field day against their back four.

Any normal person would be in the boozer.

Martin goes to sit behind the Chesterfield dugout to tweet on a cold night in Lancashire.
