Alex MacDonald’s goal. Including behind the goal footage by The Source

Was this a penalty for a foul on Kane Hemmings ?

If the Hemmings one isnt a pen why is he not booked for diving like Rose was? He's in at goal and no need for him to go down there

Hemmings wasn't booked for diving, but he was booked for dissent. It's a clear clanger by the ref. Thank goodness it wasn't costly

Decisions like that are just beyond unacceptable for a professional level.

do referees get any punishment/training for not giving blatant decisions... or do they all have a good laugh about it?

there is no doubt that he will be told by the ref's assessor that he's dropped a clanger there. But he'll know that himself when he looks at the video.

It's a penalty all day long. Even the defenders body language is one of concession. I bet he couldn't believe his eyes when the ref gave the decision.

Is there any behind the goal footage from the penalty claim Martin?

Being behind the goal as we all were, you could see that it was actually harder for him to go down rather than try and tuck the ball away.

If that had been reversed and the defender had gone down the ref would have undoubtedly blown for a foul. He definitely bottled it

What about the Danny Rose appeal/ dive according to ref.? Danny seemed convinced the defender had flicked a leg out at him. Spoke to a Cov fan after game who said defender had flicked a leg out and then pulled it back without making contact. Looked a pen from where we were..

The ref bottled it and copped out he had no intension of giving any pens . He should be descent and recognise his gross error and revoke the Hemmings booking.

more chance of a cold day in hell than a ref admitting he made a mistake!
