Evans plans January fine-tune

Doesn't look like there will be too many ins and outs in January

At this moment in time would only send Hemmings back and bring in another striker to add more fire power.

Hemmings is on loan until the end of the season (unless recalled by Oxford)

Thanks for clearing that up Martin. Signed that many players lose track of these things lol. Let’s hope he can get his act together and prove us all wrong.

If the fine tune is owt like my old VCR, then it'll be a bugger to get right ;)

Feels to me as though we're still a little way off that stage - getting a consistently cohesive midfield capable of weighing in with a few goals and our strikers netting a few to take the pressure off Rose, and i think we'll be there. The next few months are hopefully where this'll happen
Perfection took almost a week before I mastered it

In my opinion we could use a midfield general who scraps to win every ball in the middle, not a goalie

I think he’ll be after a new left back. Benning has issues defending, Hunt has issues attacking.

Craziest thing with Hemmins is he scores 3 hat ricks between now and Jan he will go back. If he doesn't we have til end of season. Hope he doesn't score and cones good after Jan. We all know it's there with him.
He knows to get a good contract next season he needs to come good.

If Kane scores three hat tricks before now and Jan I'll do a 'chimney moon' in the WSU.

BTW did chim bare his butt the other week? No one's mentioned him paying off his bet

Was talking to a Rochdale fan yesterday, he would have Logan back. Apparently they are missing how quick and accurate he distributes the ball. I don't think a new keeper is a priority.

Logan is OK, we've had worse and we've had better. If he came for crosses more often he would be better, but then he would probably be playing higher than League 2. Hemmings has shown nothing to date and I am sure if we had the option to return him in Jan, we would. Lets hope he comes good, but I am not really sure what his strengths are.

Personally, I wouldn't bring anyone else in or let anyone leave. The team is starting to show promising signs, County away in the trophy and Exeter at home I thought we was brilliant.

Keep the squad the same, as we may need everyone for a run in the trophy or FA cup and of course the league!

I'd really like Hemmings to come good but running out of patience a bit with him and he has had long enough to get going now and the goals have not really come, even after getting the first elusive one.
Think another striker will be hopefully be part of the January freshen up!!

Big lad up front who can bag a ton of goals. This will allow Rose, Hemmings and Angol to play to their best.

We obviously need a new forward.

With the current team he plays it's like playing with 10 men. Angol might not put 100% in all the time (which I mentioned on the 1st game, and still think it's lamentable) but unlike Hemmings he actually scores goals. I just simply can't see SE's fascination in him, he offers absolutely nothing.

Put it this way, does any of the other leading promotion contenders have a forward like him?

like jon stead? who spends half his games on his arse moaning to the ref.

We could use another forward, but then we’ll have a job of keeping 5 strikers happy which isn’t the easiest of jobs

John Stead has scored 5 goals while being injured for part of the season for a side top of the league with a budget not half of ours.

Absolutely, the forward situation is a problem of his creation.

Spencer - has looked off the pace with a poor touch, offering nothing of note in his league appearances
Hemmings - scores a goal about every 9 games - tries hard - we all want him to succeed as he does seem to put the effort it - just not good enough
Angol - Clearly has ability, but doesn't always show it or put in the effort required - does score goals, however.
Sterling-James - doesn't seem to quite know what to do with him.

So in short, he's a massive budget - taken on the 4 above players, and he's relying on the one forward that pre-dated his management tenure here.

Added to the fact he's won 5 out of 16 - it's pretty poor, really.

Sorry it's a rant - but we really shouldn't be where we are in the league with the above problems with the money at his disposal.

He'll definitely sign a new striker in Jan, but to be honest that is the only position I would let him strengthen if I was Radford, without letting some go first.

The loan market is where we should head.

I think in will come a LB, DMC, STR, and out will go Benning and Hemmings if that is an option, possibly Spencer, I also think Jack Thomas will either go on loan or sign elsewhere.
I also think Taft may come back and Digby will go out on loan.

Whilst Benning clearly has ability to play at this level and the one above, his consistency this season has been poor.
We missed Byrom so much when he was out. We don't have a like for like anywhere as good as him.
Striker wise, a big lump, Zoko, Akinde type that will not lose many headers or be bullied off the ball and end up their backends.
