Keep it as is and were out.

Steve can concentrate on his completely flawed promotion tilt

We get considerable cash for competing, plus it gives fringe players match practice. Why would we opt out?

Part of me agrees that it's all the above, the other part thinks you've been had by the powers that be who claim this isn't a prelude to B teams even when it is, just over a longer period of time.

Any immediate return would be easily eroded by long term loss.

Just looked on the Evening Post website live match thread.

20.46 The teams are back out.

20.50 Ollie Palmer had just headed over for Lincoln.

God bless Ollie, he is even complete raspberry in the reserve XI Cup.

I think you missed the humour, there.

wolfie, humour ;)

Given you've talked about watching matches on ifollow with a vpn I assumed you were referring to that. Checkatrade group stage games are not available. Knockout stage matches should be.

I regard it as a reserve team competition with a chance of a real trophy and a good day out. We're quite capable of preventing anything we really don't want happening.

If it's a draw, one point. If either of them wins a penalty shoot out, only 1 additional point. Not 3 points.

Don't agree with the whole B team concept whatsoever as that's the last thing we need in the football league, but I'm pleased we've gone through as it's a good run out for the players who aren't getting enough game time on a Saturday. Our squad is more than capable of competing on more than one front - just look at the reserve team we fielded today. We should be looking to go as far as we can in this without having to be concerned about the 'first team' getting injuries or whatever in the competition.

I'm sure Radford will be happy to see the prize money for wins/going through as well!

Yes, from the Checkatrade website.......

"The round of 32 pairings are determined by means of a draw whereby the winner of a group will be drawn at home and will play a runner up of a group from the same region (but not from the same group). "

I agree with this competition .it gives young players from higher levels the chance to play against men .
I wish we could enter an under 21s side in the fa trophy .It would be great experience as a group instead of being out on loan .Its good for the national game .
The one about B teams ..don't Barcelona play a B side in the lower leagues..seems to have worked in their favour with young players .food for thought
