Pub for Saturday

Does anyone know what pubs in the area are showing the game on Saturday?

Someone said last night in the Sandy Pate Bar that they will be showing Premier League downstairs in the Sandy Pate and the Stags game only upstairs in the Kevin Bird Suite? (Which costs a fiver to get in, including pie and peas...)

I really hope this isn't the case. Every single away game I can't make, I go and listen in the Sandy Pate Bar. To not have it on in there would be criminal! People should have the choice and I'm sure they would make a lot on food during the game.

Can anyone confirm or deny if this is the case?

P.S. I'm going to Shaw Lane so this isn't me being a tightwad and not wanting to pay a fiver

So they can make a £1000+ profit by charging £5 for pie and peas.
Frankly £5 is way way over the top for pie and peas, probably a £4.25 profit. Captive audience for the miniscule bar also. Why anyone'd pay to get in and watch stumps me. It should be on and available to watch for nowt, with the option to buy pie n peas if you want. What if you're a 'veggie', what's available for them, a polystyrene dish of mushy peas at a fiver  . I'm going but if I wasn't I'd go to Yates's who usually do different games on different screens and for a fraction more outlay get a decent lunch.

Be a proper laugh if folk went in SP and asked 'can we have our game on please'? Only to be told 'no, if you want to watch it you've got to pay.... y'know just like you do for away commo on that FANTASTIC service ifollow'.

Just spoken to Jonno at the Sandy Pate.

The game WILL be on in there. They're opening at 9am with breakfast available.

Sorry for confusion!

£5 for pie, peas AND a pint seems like pretty good value to me.

some seem to have ignored the £3 free pint with your pie and peas so making it a good deal and not the £4.25 profit as quoted above.

I was just going to post the same as Hollo... A pint, pie and peas for a fiver is great value especially because you'll probably get a seat for the game upstairs in the KBS too. Stop whinging Spiritater.

I'll be in Barnsley for this one. Anyone know any decent pubs near their ground?

The 'game' should be free to watch in KBS after all the club are getting £67000 or is it 62 pounds from BT Sport. You should then have the choice for pie n peas if you want it. But that's my take on it.

Eastfield Arms is 15 mind from the ground so we’ll be heading there. Apparently there is a beer tent up at the ground as well.

Tater , I'm amazed that you don't think it's good value at £5 for a pint, and pie and peas. Of course the club will try to make money, that's what it has to do. But this is good value for heavens sake.
What did you plan to do? Walk in and sit with a glass of mild for 90 minutes before shuffling off home at the final whistle?
I guess you'll say 'I'll be at Shaw Lane' which would make your moan even more bizarre.
It's a commercial organisation, this is a good initiative, try supporting it.

I was at Nottingham Beer Festival recently, whilst queuing to get in, the pub next door was proudly promoting there Wednesday night Pie, Peas and a Pint deal. £12.... £5 is very good value.
