Can't believe it

Postby part time pete » Mon Sep 25, 2017 4:10 pm

Just been into ticket office and noticed a load of players cars in car park.

Apparently they have already left for tomorrow's game.

These bags of coal are blooming going to be expensive.

I suppose JR is not giving SE any excuses for not succeeding.
We might win against Accrington next time.

I have raised this before
A trip to Cheltenham does not warrant over night stay and that is extravagance which might have been better spent on a bigger name Striker who was too expensive for us at the start of the season!
Love JR CR and SE to bits but this is something that should not be encouraged at the club at this level and distance away from Mansfield.

Can't see what is wrong with going a day early. Best way to prepare, will be able to have a training session somewhere close to the stadium, relax and then go and play in a better frame of mind. Other successful clubs in our division in previous years have done exactly this and got promoted. Short term sacrifice for long term gain

Complete guess, but i reckon the amount spent on hotels is nothing close to what would be needed for the ever elusive striker?

I agree this is ideal for players and management in terms of preparation and if playing in Isle of Skye then it would be appropriate and do get the long term investment thing!
If we are beaten tonight then it makes us look at bit silly and prima donna like.
If we win I promise I will eat my words...all of them... but seriously I think at that distance its something we could usefully save on.

JR wouldn't release the funds to do this if he couldn't afford it. SE wouldn't suggest it if he didn't think it was beneficial. People should stop being concerned over these little things.

Who on here does this trip?

I've done it five times in the past month. Horrible traffic at best of times; mind numbing at the worst of times. Trust me, it ain't a 2hrs drive in the week.

It probably costs a grand each time on average - not huge amounts in the scheme of things

23k a year on that basis... not much when we have a playing budget in the millions.

I'm ok with it. My biggest concern has always been how our losses are covered. If JR is happy to pay for this as part of his 'investment' then credit to him...

It won't be for all games away - 15 I'd think?

let them put in a half-hearted shambles of a performance saturday and see a side to Field Mill that they perhaps didn't know was there

I don't very often boo, but there are lines and these clowns are close to crossing it

Imagine how bad they would have been if they had been forced to sit on a luxury coach playing cards for a cpl of hours this lunchtime. :)

Complete waste of time and overnight expenses as said above
My feeling is that this team and its expectations are being pandered too what an embarrassment to the club and JR and CR's hard cash.
I f we cant get a point against a team with only 9 points what hope against the mighty resurgent County on Saturday.
You can say only second defeat but I have serious worries and think we have made a big mistake with SE as we are sliding backwards and the rollercoaster is clinging to the rails for grim death.
Cant see how it can improve currently and work on the training ground won't be the full answer!!

If you can win 3 0 at Exeter then you have aspirations for promotion with a stroll
Sat is going to be cringe time and we could be looking at a real revenge mauling!!
JR must be thinking hard too if he has perhaps over judged SE's ability.
Sorry its doom and gloom but that defeat is shocking end of!!

you'd have thought we'd lost nearly all our games going by your post alone there. There's still 30 odd games left to play, calm down ya twits. I'm sure doncaster, plymouth and portsmouth had a few banana skins last year. A lot of portsmouth fans wanted paul cook sacked so shows you how much football fans know

This time last year, Portsmouth had lost to Morcambe, Accrington & Blackpool at this point.
