Burton Albion Reserves v Mansfield Town Reserves (U21s)

Postby Tippy Tappy Football » Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:37 am

"Mansfield Town's second string face Burton Albion in their first Central League Cup match of the season on Tuesday (19 September, 1.00pm kick-off) at St George's Park.

Please note, the match will be played behind-closed-doors and supporters will not be permitted entry at St George's Park on Tuesday."

This seems pretty poor bearing in mind the large amounts of money that must have come from supporters and taxpayers to pay for St George's Park. I'm sure a few Stags fans would like to have attended this game.

For anyone who has Bet365, its one of the inplay matches on there - so you can see a representation of the game.

Hamilton. The forgotten man.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

Rose starting for the reserves instantly makes you think he's less likely to start against Cambridge.

If anyone deserves a start at the moment it's him.

Scored one already, hope he gets a hat-trick so it more or less leaves Evans with no choice.

Maybe he's going to give him an hour or so to get match time in with a view to being match fit and sharp enough to start on Saturday. The two goals already will boost his confidence as well.

The stats (I know it's just a reserve game) are very impressive. 21 shots, of which 9 were on target. No shots against, and 64% possession

Go on rosey a header and a volley.
Can't ask for more.
Maybe a penalty and a free kick.

No Kane Hemmings? Surely he needs 90 minutes more than anyone?

regarding Rose and Hemmings, Evans was consistent with what he always says - it's about getting minutes into players. Rose got just 30 minutes on Saturday, so got 45 minutes today. Hemmings got 60 minutes on Saturday, so didn't need more minutes. It's nothing to do with how well they played.

He's not the forgotten man at all.
He's not at the moment anywhere near the first team. Pace plenty. Wise use of pace combined with an end product once in a while... none.

Me too mate, with Byrom out he's the one that should make us tick. There'd be no hoof with him in the side.

Burton's side was mainly young lads. We ought to win the Central League and Cup playing our first team squad players
