It would have been nice if the Stags had played friendlies against Clipstone, AFC Mansfield  . , Worksop, Ollerton, Retford, Teversal etc who would have appreciated the game much more than Stocksbridge Park Steels who just moaned about the fact that we had not sent our first team because they were playing against Middlesbrough the day after. They also did not think it was anything special as they were playing friendlies against Sheff Wed and Sheff Utd.

I pointed out the quality of the players in our side which included Logan, Bennett, Pearce, Mirfin, Hunt, Potter, Mellis, Rose etc but they were very dismissive. They did not deserve a friendly. Very ungrateful.

Just out of interest, how are the club supporting our local teams as she suggests?
The Stags are for life, not just for cup finals. (or Liverpool).

Paying rent to Clipstone and Rainworth to host youth games ???
We might win against Accrington next time.

I think we cater for young girls too.

There was a young lady that played for Stags U16s in a cup final at Arnold Towns ground 2-3 years back, same age group as Keaton Ward who's playing well now in t'youth team now.
She was a England international at the time and very good at CB and bossed the opposition male strikeforce.
Obviously she moved on to pure ladies footy now as above 16 I don't think they are allowed to play mixed gender games.
Her first name was Neve I think and I don't know where she's playing now. So girls I think are most welcome in the youth system, but they have to have the ability also.

I'm guessing it's the Matt salmon trophy with the winner of every stags v County match keeping it.
