War of words as Evans upsets Cowley before derby

Sounds like Steve Evans has cleverly wound up the Lincoln boss already . . .

Hardly a war of words. However, Bostwick will be a key player on Saturday. The sort of holding midfielder we could do with.

Lincoln must have broken their transfer record when signing Michael Bostwick which was previously around £75,000 for Tony Battersby. However JR confirmed at the Fans Forum that we had also broken our transfer record by paying £300,000 to Peterborough for Lee Angol and Hayden White as one or both of them may have cost more than the £125,000 we paid to Wolves for Colin Larkin.

Note: Hasloan claimed we had paid £150,000 for Lee Peacock but Carlisle said it was only around £90,000.

If we broke the transfer record why shouldn't the fans be told who it is and what it was?

Surely every clubs fans know their record signing - it seems except us, who have been led around the garden path for years.

JR was talking about the transfer fees for Lee Angol and Hayden White and clearly indicated we had broken our transfer record. He was not talking about last season. JR asked what our transfer record was and then said we had already paid £300,000 to Peterborough for two players.

Like Doomy I am not a fan of undisclosed transfer fees. I'm also surprised that JR and Carolyn are not using this as further evidence to demonstrate to the Mansfield and Ashfield public that they are very very serious about trying to win promotion to League 1. There are no ifs or buts. We are going for it big time.

Its the agents that put in the undisclosed fees I think, it's not JR or evans not telling us that

“But for us, I don’t think my players improve by me being disrespectful about the opposition or the way they go about things. I don’t that see the point of that."

Nicely put.
The Stags are for life, not just for cup finals. (or Liverpool).

Words, words and more words, as Cowley says "what's the point".

It doesn't serve the players, but it does serve Steve Evans. Steve Evans is deflecting attention away from the players and on to Steve Evans. That all helps the brand of Steve Evans and deflects from any possible bad results because people are too busy talking about Steve Evans.
