Can't believe man of the match award. Pierce. Mcdonald and Angol were the best three players on the pitch

Hopefully he's at Tuesdays game too!

Don't agree Acasman, it was Muffin for me, followed by Pierce.

They kept us together for the first 20 mins with very good defending.

Pearce all the way for me, solid as a rock and even brought the ball out of defence rather than hoofing it like Mirfin, and Pearce scored one and got the og as well.
I have to say Hemmings is not filling me full of joy yet, 1st half we were lumping balls up to him and Angol, and neither was winning any headers, Rose should have had a run out. No white, benning or sterling-James on the bench? :(

It seemed more like one of those games where we needed to eek out a win one way or another.
A win today, in whatever fashion, was what was needed and thankfully we secured it.
One worry I have with this team is that they only imposed themselves once the pressure was off.
I just have a nagging doubt that we may be a 'throw the towel in' type if things aren't going our way.

You're joking. It was a fair reflection of the game. Some people just aren't happy. I thought Angol was superb and I didn't recognise him from the bile on here.

Yet you insult someone by calling them stupid because their opinion is different to yours. You fool.

I don't think it worked with Butcher on the right. He looked largely ineffective and is much better in the centre of the park. I think Evans will have a decision to make if Butcher and Mellis can be in the same team..

The back four and the front two were very good though in my opinion

Agree on Angol.
I missed Forest Green due to being on holiday when apparently he had a poor game. Almost unforgivable that based on the comments I've read.
However in the pre-season games I watched and the home games since Forest Green he's impressed me.
He's a real pain in the backside for opposition defences as the ball sticks and he has great spacial awareness. He's got good feet for a big lad and will score goals.
I'm sick of busy, quick players with no end product. Nice to see someone who makes the game look easy.
Having said that he's tall and doesn't like to head the ball on to nobody in particular so will get his fair share of abuse on here during the course of the season.

Belwhiff - I didn't call him stupid. He asked if I had actually been to the game, even though it was obvious from my other contributions I had. His question was inane, so I ASKED him if he was stupid.

I would have thought that you of all people would have recognised that both his, and my, questions were rhetorical.

Get out of town. Your post insinuated that he was stupid. You honestly think that anyone will ever answer that question "yes" ?

Because asking someone if they're stupid isn't abusive.

Fair enough. Some of the stuff we played today was exceptional and we fully deserved the result imp. Grimsby were dogged but we had far more quality where it mattered.

Agree the scoreline flattered us slightly. We were pants first half but better in the second. Grimsby were rubbish and think Evans is dreaming if they're going to be top 8.

Very important result, pleased to see Macca back, his energy is great for the team.

Think we will need to improve on Tuesday to beat Wycombe.
