Surely there must be a proven penalty taker in the side !!!

The first two were poor pens. Hemmings has hit a good pen and the keeper has made a good save. Some times you have to hold your hands up if that the case and say well done to keeper. I think Hemmings will be our pen taker

4 points dropped though. 10 points after 5 games changes the whole mood round the place.

If that's the case, he should be allowed to take the next one. The two missed penalties I saw were poor.

Very decent pen and a good save, their GK must have been close to being MoM, for sure their defence would have confidence in him.

Concerning that the taker hadn't been sorted out prior to the game, Angol wasn't going to let Hemings take it and was miffed when the gaffer sent on the instruction for Hemings to take it, as such the build up to the pen could have been better or Hemings.

I know it is clutching at straws but Portsmouth missed 6 penalties last season and Donny missed 5.

That one today was the best of the 3 but it still wouldn't get in the 'decent' catergory for me. Was at a good height for the keeper and there wasn't much power behind it.

Mr Evans said in his post match interview that after last weeks miss against Luton, penalties had been practiced during the week and Hemmings "put them away from all heights and angles and never missed one".

We know it's not a given that a goal will result but, on the evidence presented to him, choosing Hemmings to take today's penalty was the obvious choice.

Keepers get lucky and a few have the gift of guessing right.

I wonder what is our worst record of consecutive pens missed in competitive games?

didn't we go like 80 odd games without having a penalty or scoring one?

I thought Angol got a bit mardy after the bench told Hemmings to take it

I remember someone telling me we would have stayed up in 1977-78 if we had scored all the penalties we missed. Anyone remember how many we missed?

Having seen yesterday's peno, you have to say it's a good penalty & 99% of the time it's a goal, but it was a great save by the keeper.
