Wasnt at the game so cant comment on the performance. But...

Away draws are acceprable IF we start regularly winning at home.

Carlisle is a difficult place to go.

Just had a look at the 2012/13 season results and after 5 games we had 6 points and had been battered in two of the defeats.

Obviously not relevant to this season, but it does demonstrate that what happens during the first month of a season can sometimes have no bearing on the last month of it.

this golden team built by evans is doing nothing to build my confidence ... I think we will struggle because we are not doing the basics ... just hoof forward etc

.... I can see JR having strong words very soon .

But on the flip side of the coin 4 points dropped because we can't score from 12 yards

Not at the game so can't comment on the performance. Happy with a point, but disappointed that we missed another penalty.

We've only lost one game so far, just need to start converting draws into wins.

Happy with the draw.

Yes its early days but if we are going to criticise our league position then lets take other teams into consideration.

Crewe - 8th
Forest Green - 22nd
Accrington - 3rd
Luton - 6th
Carlise - 11th

If this trend continues then we are playing teams expecting to challenge later in the season and we are picking up points against them, with the exception of Forest Green we haven't played lower ranked teams.

I urge a few on here to actually look at some of the results with context because these could turn out to be very valuable points we are earning against promotion rivals.

Onwards to the Grimsby game.

Evans' post-match interview drinking game, down your drink when you hear:

We dominated for x minutes
Unlucky not to be 3-4 goals up
Fantastic reaction
They should have 10 men on the pitch
Only one team on the park
(Opposition managers name) is a good friend of mine
Back on the training pitch
The people of Mansfield are good people

A point is a fair result, and is a good result really though it is frustrating knowing we've dropped 4 points due to penalties which would see us in 3rd place. Was surprised to see Mellis come off but it was a fantastic finish from Butcher. We were well on top once Butcher and Potter came on but then when Angol came off for Rose we were never the same side. Think Angol and Hemmings could become a good partnership up top and are without doubt our better strikers.

Logan is unbelievable to watch at times, completely rooted to the spot on 2 occasions when they hit the bar. You can just sense the defenders do not feel comfortable with him, they are second guessing what he's going to do. Whilst he wasn't at fault for the goal Olejnik has to come for me

Thats a good analysis. But you know how it goes with some, if we are not beating teams then somebody has to be at fault.

Only one win but only one defeat so far in the league and despite the defensive frailties and unexpected question mark over Logan's start to the season we have already proven we are going to be difficult to beat. Our quality will start to shine through in the coming weeks and months and we are heading only in one direction. I've just had a look through the other squads in league two today and with the exception of Luton nobody comes close to us.

The results will come soon, I am still excited about watching this season unfold.

Today is decent result, well done Stags.

If we'd have scored the peno today, it would've been early in the second half, so it's not a certainty we would've won the game... Butcher may not have come on when he did, & probably wouldn't have scored if & when he did come on.

Last week though, at the time it was awarded, it would have earned us two extra points.

A point today is a good point.

Comments from a group of 50+ Carlisle fans after the game
Do you have to watch that sh*t every week?
Can't play football
Load of thugs, centre half and Centre forward should have seen red
Completely outplayed them. How could we not have thrashed them

To be fair, not bad comments having watched the game.

Given it was the same starting line up against Luton anyone who watched the first 60 minutes of that game know we well and truly can play.

They aint gonna play that well every week.

I'd have taken a point at Carlisle at 2:59. A decent enough result for me. Point away, three at home gets you up. #StickWithEm

A point at Carlisle is a decent point regardless of performance.
The Stags are for life, not just for cup finals. (or Liverpool).
