I'd have Byrom and Baker with Mellis just ahead and Macca and Ando wide. I'd play 1 up top.

Who is Baker?

 who  Dr who  Tom Baker

Haha oops. You know what I meant! In my defence, I work in a bakery.

Taft really should of been a player to come in do well and sell on... was impressed at the time, but it seemed murray only attracted decent players that were coming back from injury and I think thats why we didn't see the best of him.

I thought the same about Anderson, but as you say I think McGuigan will get better offers.

So only 15 players added to the squad by Steve Evans in the transfer window to go with the 3 who he signed and are still here from the January transfer window and the 5 survivors from the Murray regime.

We surely have enough to compete now, time to roll those sleeves up lads and show us what you've got.

i think he makes it up as he goes along to be honest.

sign the best players available, without a thought of tactics, formations, skill sets

he's the cleverest manger in the league.

nothing to do with football, all to do with accepting the right jobs.
i would prefer not to.

I think you're probably spot on there. But he also makes sure he's got Raynor with him to get the football side of things done.

I think he is more astute than you give him credit for. When we are top of the league no doubt he will be a tactical genius.

Agree with that. Take a look at that squad and it is a top 4 squad on paper. It's now up to the management and the players to make it happen. The owners could not have done any more; they've provided the sledgehammer, it now has to be wielded to bash through that promotion door.

Let's hope that it's a top 4 squad on grass, eh Doomers?

It is over to SE and his team to turn this talented squad into promotion winners. However, he deserves a lot of credit, as do JR and CR, for getting the best squad of players we have had for ages, together. Money talks, but credit is due to SE for persuading the players to join the club. Even if the players were offered the same terms, do you really think PC or AM would have got a quarter of these players to sign ? I don't.

I agree, his approach to management seems to be buy whoever becomes available. I'm surprised in his pursuit of attacking midfielders, my preference would have been a holding midfielder. Particularly as he seems to prefer a diamond. Maybe he has a plan to change formation but I cant see how many of his signings will fit in. It has already caught us out, not being to hold onto games and I predict it will again. Digby has shown he isn't a holding midfielder many thought he would be.

Whatever I think of Evans, I don't doubt his ability to get a player to sign for him. That and Radfords hard cash of course.

No excuses now. Radford has provided him with the most support a manager has ever received from an MTFC chairman and pandered to his every wish whilst he has played fantasy football. Time to start delivering on the pitch now.
The Stags are for life, not just for cup finals. (or Liverpool).
