Todays attendance

Postby Spiritater » Sat Aug 26, 2017 8:45 pm

I have to say i was quite suprised we fail to get over the 5k barrier today.

Top two teams in the division allegedly.

Bank Holiday weekend

Weather to die for

Loooooooun more attractive opposition than FGR

and we only just crept over 3.5k home fans.

I was surprised, but then 2 regulars I know of were at Skegvegas for the bank holiday, so I guess the bank holiday effect can cut both ways.

Bank holiday weekend means a lot of people will be away on holiday or have other plans foisted on them that don't include football. I wasn't surprised that the attendance was under 5000.

Very disappointing.
Less home fans than there were for Forest Green.

It was a crap attendance, no ones bothered, the town is crap, JR may as well buy Sutton Town etc etc etc etc

In reality......

The attendances are rising (fact)

If the current improvements on the pitch continue then this trend will also continue (my opinion)

Moaning about the town/attendances is so flipping dull
We think the same things at the same time
We just can't do anything about it

Tbh I was expecting a lot more away supporters but with BH I wouldn't be too bothered with the gate.

Get results and ....'they will come...'

September/October will test fans....

So what will be the excuse in two weeks time then t'Cods come to town?

1pm Kick off?

Kids back at school (so they've had to spend it on a new uniform?

Too cold?

They've not finished the new terracing on the Bish yet?

I too hoped for that..... 3600 isn't ideal, but there was 5 missing from the usual lot in the railway.

The point is the fans are creeping back, at a snails pace, but they're returning.

Play football like that going going forward and we'll be just fine

We should have been pushing for 5500 today, it's a poor attendance. Also what's happened to the singing block? Is that still going? Didn't hear them at all today.

A tad harsh Doomy what with a nice day to take the family out?

If our Katherine was up with our 2 young granddaughters I think I would not be at Filed Mill and enjoy a family day out what with me being late middle age (sic) /early old age to enjoy their company.... ;)

Terrace plans are on hold aren't they?

We've had 3600 or so home fans for 2 successive games, radford would have bitten your hand off a few seasons for that.

As said, keep performances like today going and fans will return

Play like that and get three points and folks will return.

All the non-regulars see is a great deal of hype but 14th in league, we hopefully see light at the end of the tunnel, they don't.

Stoney unsure where you sit but I sit in P block and can confirm its still where most noise is generated. I will admit at times it did feel a little bit of a struggle to get it going but the drummer hasn't been at FGR or Luton games.

Does anyone know him? Or want to replace him as the Q block atmosphere takes a big step up when a drummer is in attendance.

Why would another 1000 home fans suddenly turn up for this? Only regular fans see Luton as a big game.

We've had an average start to the campaign and we simply don't have 4500 regular home fans. We have 3500 ish, for now.

If we'd won the first 3 games we might of seen another 500 or so, but to just expect 4500 home fans to turn up for no reason other than you think they should is crazy.

The kind of punters we need to attract to push over 4000 home fans will only turn up when were winning or playing a big game.

Solid attendance i thought.

4000 odd home fans will be a regular occurrence later in the season when it's clear we are going to do well.

A lot has been said about the disappointingly low crowds. Thankfully they are increasing albeit in smaller numbers than we would like. If we climb the league,as expected, the crowd will increase.
