Today is the day

Postby Sammythestag » Sat Aug 12, 2017 11:40 am

The boys do the business, everything comes together and the stags walk down the tunnel with their heads held high to a standing ovation from the amber army after a resounding 3-0 'men vs boys' victory over their unworthy opponents leaving everyone wondering why we even asked for another striker. Come on the boys, Angol hat trick!

Been here before so many times... expectation and flat as a pancake performance.
Time to deliver a perfomance that befits one of the 'fancied' teams.

We got both today. We struggled to figure FGR out in the first half and Angol missed a 1 on 1 chance. I was beginning to think at half time we will probabably lose this 1 nil. Then the second half performance was much better and we could have had at least four.

The strong breeze again made the difference.

First half tactics was just to contain them and if we pinched a goal great.

Second half put them under pressure and goals would come and they did.

Tactically very good.
We might win against Accrington next time.
