Good update - still clearly working hard in the back ground to secure extra players.

Reading between the lines, when SE describes the player as 'battering' his teams (rather than scoring goals), that suggests that we are talking about someone industrious and physical. We do, of course, bow humbly to the manager's superior knowledge and experience, but I can't help but feel that we need a goal scorer rather than another bruiser up top.

Evans said it depends if the player wanted to drop down to league two, that ruled out akindi what about Jermille Matt from Blackpool,I seem to remember S E saying before that he's battered his teams before

It is possible to be both.

Interesting that the Chad article doesn't carry the battering ram tag 'Evans added: “He is a striker who has scored goals and been a real handful against my teams in the past - I’ve always told my centre backs to batter him from start to finish.'

Just read the interview on the OS and the record bid surely wouldn't be Batt or Smith even in the crazy transfer market we live today.

I can't venture a guess based on the interview may be someone as yet unmentioned. Not disappointed Hopper turned us down to be fair.

Lee Novak? May be getting bombed out of Charlton after being sent off on Saturday.

Guesswork, obviously.

If he's actually left Pompey though, I doubt that the manager there would be discussing it with him.
