Is it the U21s playing at Matlock today?

Matlock Town beat Mansfield Town U21s 3-1 (HT: 3-0)

Decided to start my season at Matlock Town as amazingly I have never watched a game at Causeway Lane despite walking and driving past the ground many times.

Matlock and former Stags trialist, Shaun Harrad (ex Notts County, Burton Albion, Bury, Northampton etc) gave Matlock an early lead and then converted a penalty to make it 2-0. Matt Green's younger brother, Jake Green made it 3-0 with a deflected free kick.

The Stags' youngsters did well to stay in the game in the 2nd half and Tyler Blake had a couple of late chances when he was through on goal. He missed the first chance but scored the second one to make the final score 3-1.

The two Stags youngsters who looked like they could do a decent job on loan for a non-league side were Lewis Collins and Tyler Blake. Lewis Collins was big and strong in the middle of midfield but sometimes hung on to the ball too long. Tyler Blake kept going up front and his pace started to cause a few problems in the 2nd half.

Shaun Harrod signed on for Matlock after the game.

On to Stocksbridge Park Steels on Tuesday night. Another new ground for me.

Take it Max Hunt is no longer with the stags then if he's playing for Matlock again after being at the stags last year?
