Dexter Blackstock

Postby Captain Cunno » Wed Jul 12, 2017 4:32 pm

Just been released by Rotherham.
Local lad
Would guess he is the "offers something different striker " that Evans is after.
Would expect him to sign in next week
These are my opinions , if you don't like them I have others...

Absolutely slatted by press, fans and chairman at Millers as the biggest waste of money signing ever at Rotherham.

Between 2005-2009 he was pretty much a 1in3 striker in the Championship and Prem, for Forest he was 1in4 and then last season he only got 1 about 16 for a dreadful Rotherham side. I'd think he'd still do a good job in League 2.

I hated him in 'The Press Gang'. I was so jealous of his relationship with Julia Sawalha. That was before she put all the chunk on mind.

Very interesting article here about his lack of effort and commitment to Rotherham

All Blackstock is is a name that we've vaguely heard of due to his connection down the road. Look at his age, his stats, his reputation and his likely wage demand and I personally go "Maybe under past managers but Mr Evans will just let him pass on by".

Personally, I'd be busting a gut to get the lad from Cambridge at the moment.

I think steve would be speaking to tony stewart about him if he was interested. Sure Evans has enough contacts at Rotherham to get an idea on him. If it's anything based on that article I think he'd know the answer.

Ouch. That is a tough read.

If that is a true reflection of his character he can swivel.

I saw him a lot at Forest down the years. He was quite consistent until a bad injury.

He does have a lethargic playing style about him but can be a physical forward, decent at holding the ball up for a strike partner and did score goals.
Not so great with his head though, his nickname at Forest was 'Fifty Pence head' because when he headed the ball it could go in any direction.

Big gamble in my opinion. He's good enough without a doubt but does he want it? I'm not so sure.

I dunno about Brian May living in Papplewick, but Freddie Mercurys Mum lived most of her life in Mapperley. I don't know if she knew Blacstock though!

He never has, he seems to think it's because freddies mum was from Nottingham. They asked him on radio Nottingham.
