Is it too late for JR to make a bid for Lukaku?

He has been offered alot more than Sir Green of Lincolns 'speculated and reported' salary to join MTFC.

Cannot say which one it is by name, but its the one who doesnt have to pay £7+ for a pint in his local .....

Lifestags is allegedly correct

I'm not being a kill joy here but how much has this trip to Malta cost the club ? A big squad of players stopping in a hotel , food , chartered plane . .I would of thought the cost of this unnecessary trip would of gone towards a quality striker .

I don't think radfords would do it unless they couldn't afford it, they've done it before so why not again with an even better squad? It helps the team to bond in a better environment and is a nice holiday away for stags fans.

Loads of fans, management/coaching staff and directors in the same pub but no sign of John or Carolyn...... read into it what you will.

I'm sure the whole trip is tax deductable.
Would of thought with bulk booking about £200.00 per person. Not a lot really.

Anymore drunk tales of player negotiations? Please tell if true.

To those that question how JR spends his money, He can spend it how he wishes just like you do.

I agree Opus but if you gave Evans a option to either have a few days away in Malta , play on worse pitches than back home , have worse training facilities than on your doorstep and get more of a stern test against the likes of Alfreton or have for an example , £200,000 extra to get a quality striker that could go a long way in obtaining promotion . I'm sure he would choose the latter
I agree , it's a great trip out for the players and fans but if the Radfords have a huge chunk of money to waste then fair enough , as long as we don't come up short on their budget for one of Steves main targets

Even if we didn't go to malta pre season someone would be moaning about something. Let them run our football club as they please, we will still support it regardless of what JR does with his money.

An alternative view would be that they have one hell of a job intergrating all those players into a team, what better way to do that then take them away for a team bonding session. If it helps they gel alot more quicker because they are outside of their normal comfort zone, ie training and going home etc that could easily be an extra 3/6 pts extra at the start of the season that come May could prove vital.

As others have said JR can spend his money how he likes, there are clearly funds available although so far we have been rebuffed in our approaches (cant do anything about that). No one knows exactly how deep his pockets are expect for John himself. I suspect they may be deeper than people realise.

£200 a piece, get away.

Let's be more realistic.

24 1st team players.
15 under 21s
Management team 5
Forget directors.

That equates to around 44 bodies at a conservative £400 a head = £17600
Private jet £10k

My guess is the trip cost circa £25-30k

But hey, who cares, it didn't cost me a bean and hopefully we will all benefit come the season.

You'd imagine JR has had the gaffer stopping on board the yacht with Raynor left ashore to tuck the boys in at night. The gaffer loves his red wine and I'd imagine JR, CR and Evo have polished off a case or two on the aft deck planning the campaign to come whilst watching the stars.

Then there are those who've paid a fair wad for the 'executive' trip that was advertized by PN on here which will have helped fund the jet I'd imagine.

Except it isn't a waste is it ? There will have been massive benefit in terms of team
bonding and getting the squad to know each other.

Sounds like a lot of money. You could get Paul Pogba for about a day and half for that.

Was speaking to Evans last night as he and his staff came out. Asked him the score in yesterday's in house match and he said 4-0. Asked who got the other and he said can't remember and winked. Hmm

Including his "loyalty" bonus he earns, sorry gets paid, £230,000 a week. So it wouldn't quite get a full 24 hours.
