Don't see why this is a pointless post certainly compared to some of the garbage on here

We are looking for a striker, CR is on record as saying we had made an offer for one of the leagues top scorers. Up until Doncaster he has been a bit of a journeyman and he would probably play every week.

Very relevant post bearing in mind someone generated a whole Akinde thread based on a black guy had been seen at the ground.

Not saying I think we will sign him but not an irrelevant post - money talks

He'd cost us the top wages and hundreds of thousands in transfer fee; also the lad isn't going to drop a division. Not going to happen, let's have some common sense.

We are looking for a striker yes, we also do not have one of Labour's "Money Trees".

Can't afford Akinde, certainly can't afford Marquis who is still under contract and would cost a big fee as well as wages.

I think Evans will start the season with what he has.

Keep any funds till November time where good players will not be getting a game at other clubs.

Perhaps we should be looking for a striker from Northern Ireland then - I am sure some money could be found for that.

I thought the tories were the one with the money tree, saying there's no money and then pulling out a big bung for the DUP. But ya know, blame it on labour

Well said Dave, maybe you are right.

Having said that, where would the money come from to renationalised the railways, water, stop uni course fees, wipe out any accrued student debt and raise public sector ay above 1 per cent. In truth the only money available is ours.

Bit harsh, wouldn't have thought it would be common sense we would have signed someone like Paul Anderson a few weeks ago...

Is this classed as the official entry point for me to start having a good old moan then? :P

I suspect that for whatever reasons you are right, and this striker might be as mythical as Donald Trump's natural hair.

That said, i still have faith we'll get a season long loan before the first game

Both parties have the same fiscal acumen as the accountants in the Mirror Group pension fund, but that's a rant for another day ;)

If it's down to money then fair do's and i'd rather we be realistic than bust our budget. As mentioned before, players wage expectations will plummet once they realise clubs cannot or will not pay for them

I'm happier having all our current signings and no big name striker, than splurge the budget on 1 decent striker and only be able to afford half the team we've assembled

The comments he wouldn't drop down are interesting, didn't he drop to Northampton and then from there to Doncaster ?

Signing for Ipswich apparently.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

We also don't spend money like the Labour Party due, that's before they have got it. We don't want MTFC bankrupt like the country was when Tony B.Liar and boring Brown had their come-uppance
