How refreshing ...

Postby pemill » Tue May 16, 2017 7:55 pm

... getting players in before pre-season, seemingly getting who we want before others and not being left to pick up on the best of the rest, if we ever did. What is happening is nothing short of a revolution and then you add to that the work being done to provide a pitch worthy of playing football on plus other work behind the scenes - it's fantastic being a Stags supporter right now.

It is great, but I'm pretty sure it happened last season as well, and maybe the year before as well, the time when it was sticky and quiet were the Conference years, because of paying players over the summer when they didn't play?

Players contracts don't start until june 1st. and the return to training on the 29th and have been giving tasks to complete with heart rate monitors whilst they're away so they will all be getting ready for a big season.

Wait... What's that noise.... sshhhhh. .... is it the sound of the barrel being scraped?

No. Not this season! Not at all.

In JR, CR and SE we trust.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

I miss the days where we'd be a week before the season and have maybe 10 players on the books then you end up with joe o'neil and chris tate as your strikeforce

Haha, indeed. I remember going to Fulham for the first game of the season to find we had Matt Carmichael & Imre Varadi playing up front! I think they'd joined late on the Friday evening.

Didn't they both score? I think we lost something like 4-2 on a scorching hot day in the big smoke.

I used to feel sorry for Alan the announcer during the Reg years, he had a list of new players to read out every home game

Not just players, but architects
