He's a Mariners legend and has little affinity to us. Grafted like a good un to get the Cods back to the FL. Hope he's well supported.

Would have loved us to bring him back to the Mill when he left the Shrews. Part of the best team I've witnessed in 20 years watching Stags. Hope he gets signed up to another good club and has a couple more years.

What I'd give for a midfield of Lawrence, Disley, Williamson and Corden next season.

Would the Disley that we had in one of the best footballing teams I have seen under Dearden been the same performer within the style of play that Cox used to get us promoted? I don't think so. After leaving Shrews he'd have been on a fair wack and a luxury we couldn't afford or actually need in that team with that manager.

He probably wouldn't have been on any more than Jon Worthington or Paul Bolland, who Cox signed instead.

It was the genius that was Curle who got rid of Disley, who until very recently consistently played one level above us. Dis was terrific for us and has clearly had a great career with Grimsby. I suspect someone in the Conference will soon have a very welcome new addition to their ranks.

Yeah Curle released him but the poster was suggesting Cox had the chance to bring him back.

Apparently it was a toss up between Jon Worthington and Craig Disley. Coxy thought Worthington was better value for money. Perhaps in hindsight he got that wrong, but we will never know. It might have been Dis was wanting too much in wages.
We might win against Accrington next time.
