Rainworth four days before the first league game. That will not be the Stags first team I would bet... If it had been a month earlier then yes probably it would.

Has to be. Isn't that the first round of the league cup?

We're also away at Alfreton on Saturday 29th July.

At present I've worked the following out:

Tues July 18 Mickleover Sports A
Sat July 22 Heanor Town A
Tues July 25 Grantham Town A
Sat July 29 Alfreton Town A
Tues Aug 1 St Neots Town A AND Rainworth MW A
Tues Aug 8 Sherwood Coll A

Obviously this info is from both here and published articles/club websites.

EFL season 2017/18 kicks off on Friday Aug 4th so must be a youth reserve side at Sherwood ?

I'd be surprised if many of those are first team. Alfreton possibly. I doubt any of the others.

I'm thinking maybe Heanor, probably Alfreton and maybe split squad at Rainworth. Very much doubt first team will be involved in the others

Gainsborough Trinity are playing a League 2 club at home on Tuesday 25th July. Could be Grimsby or Stags. They already have a game against Lincoln.

Shifting focus away from our transfer business, the manager says the Stags’ pre-season schedule will be revealed soon.

“The pre-season friendlies will be announced soon, I think they’re just tying all the details up and confirming the dates. We’ve got three exciting fixtures here at the One Call Stadium.

“I’ve seen fixtures that are attributed to the youth team and not us - the first team pre-season programme will come out.

“We come in for two or three days’ testing at the university, the whole squad, and we’ll have a couple of football training days and then we’ll go to Malta for a week.

“We’ll have a game or two over there and then we’ll come back to a real hot-bed of pre-season, some top, top class clubs here and one or two tasty games away from here that we’ll have to go and see the other side of the game and try and perform the same as we do here.”

Remember seeing Dukla Prague at Florist in a friendly around late 60s.
