yes you're right. He had left before we got to Wembley

There are others who were not with us when we went to Wembley too, like Chamberlain.

Neil Whatmore still lives in Mansfield I believe. Was still living off Eakring Road a few years ago and working for the same company as I was, along with his lad.

What a fantastic night. Players genuinely pleased to be there and nearly 2 hours worth of interviews that went by like a shot. Happy memories came flooding back. Well done to Paul and others who helped to put the night on and make it happen. Kevin Kent also played a big part apparently.
Hope to see some of them at the game tomorrow.

It was a truly wonderful event. Marvellous to get the chance to chat with players who I have not seen for decades. No big time Charlie's there, just genuinely humble guys who made it clear that the day at Wembley meant as much to them as it did to us. We forget that in those days it was virtually unheard of for a lower league club to reach the Twin Towers, no play off finals then.

That golden-headed mountain still looks as strong as a jailhouse door today.

Great stuff, good to see almost all of them back. True heroes of my childhood.

Quite simply LEGENDS.

And a huge pat on the back to Paul and the club for arranging this. I've said many times that living heroes are often forgotten about until they pass away. It's great that Paul, the club and Kevin Kent could get this arranged.

Whilst MTFC were holding this excellent get together yesterday, Chesterfield were also having a get together. It was to celebrate reaching the Semi Final of the FA Cup 20 years ago. Oh well, I suppose past memories are something they are going to have to get used to.
