As I suspected Private Dunno is about 12 years old that's why he thinks Mani's the worst player. He was probaby still in nappies while we were in the Conf

Captain Cunno,

I have a sneaky feeling you jest when proclaiming Louis Briscoe is the worst player you have ever seen. However, if you are indeed serious and you started supporting the Stags back in 84/85 you will have seen Steve Prinderville play in the late 80's. With this is mind can you give me an explanation as to what makes Prinderville a better player than Louis Briscoe?

Ha, I missed one little post about another player and made myself look a tit. Still the question is relevant (kind of). Was Mani really a worse player than Prinderville?

Too right it would be, plus thinking about the worst player ever has reminded of other 'greats' such as Cliff Carr.

There are tonnes worse than Mani.

The majority of the players that McEwan brought in during that first year in the conference were truly awful.

The worst....Anthony Robinson.......

there was a dreadful midfielder that Reg Holdsworth used to rely on week in week out. Think he used to play for Rushden before Mansfield.

Anyway, I think Briscoe is playing below his level in Conf North. He is still 28 too.

Ha Ha! we should make a team of the worst 11.
Jason White in goal, Prindeville left back, Lever centre back, Joe laidlaw midfield, Paul Cannell & Dave Goodwin as strikers.

But back to Briscoe - he was a decent player and I am surprised he has struggled with his career. Briscoe, Jones, & Stevenson were the unsung heroes that helped us to promotion back to the Football League.

I can see his face but can't name him, I think he got sent off for us away at rushden once, he was truly awful I remember him 1 game litteraly floating about 8/9 free kick straight into the keeper giving nobody a chance to get something on it!! In the end I think he was getting boo'd

I think if it's the same lad he came from Stevenage, and at the time he was there captain

That'll be Craig Dobson i reckon you're on about AWC?

In an oxygen tent and without any distraction or urgency, his ball skill wizardry was like Merlin. However, put him in a real match and he was more akin to Guinevere or Lancelot on a Saturday night ;)

bad players during the conference years is like shooting fish in a barrel.

I do miss the weekly reg has signed two guys you've never heard of but don't get too attached as they'll be replaced by next week updates.

Thanks Calstag and Martin. It was him. What a passenger. Brisco was miles better than this lot we've mentioned.

Briscoe wouldn't even make the top 100 worst players. I've seen countless players worse than him & a lot of them were Stags league teams.
