Not in the squad for the game with Tranmere tonight, and they're a sub short as well!

Must be injured surely.
There is one formidable adversary that Arsene Wenger has yet to defeat; it's Arsene Wenger's Coat.

I think it's simply that they can only have 5 loan players in the 18 man squad. They have 8 players on loan

Can't see him starting a game for us again unfortunately.

Like Clements - despite his goal against us the other week - he was part of a midfield that was rotten to the core and devoid of any form of quality.

You'd have though this would have been a perfect chance for him - but from what i've read elsewhere, Barrow aren't really a passing side - unsurprisingly under Cox

If he can't get regular starts and perform well in the Conference, then he has got no chance of playing for us.
Maybe he should try to find another club to re-build his career?

Possibly, but it may be that the other loanees are having to cover defenders or attackers due to injury. I'm sure the majority of us want Jack to do well, being a local lad and all that.

I don't care if he's local or from John O'Groats, if he's good enough get him in the team, if he isn't, get rid.

I've always liked Jack and still hope he makes it at Mansfield

What clarified things for me though was seeing Ben who can't get in Sheff Utds first team and is about the same age as Jack. You could say that's an exceptional example but it does make the point

Jack does have ability but there's only one person who can change Jacks attitude if that is the issue and that's Jack.

Good luck to the lad wherever he ends up

Not in the Barrow squad against Eastleigh today. Clements not in the victorious Grimsby squad today either.

Ones a goalkeeper so he plays every game so that leaves four...i believe there is 2 defenders...a winger and a striker involved due to injury and suspension....so don't think its necessarily down to performance or application... Its just an unfortunate set of circumstances that have developed so he can probably feel a tad unlucky at the minute..

No point being there if he can't play. He'd be better off at Alfreton or Gainsboro etc.

I have no idea if the stories posted on here re Jack's drinking regiem are true but I have some advice for young Jack true or false be those posts.

Read Journeyman by Ben Smith, many I now have already commented on the book, it an honest appraisal of wasted talent due to po setting and drinking at the wrong time.

Jack, buy it, read it and digest it's contents, if the cap fits then change, you are young talented and gave youth on your side. Ignore Ben Smith's advice at your peril.

I can't see Jack Thomas being kept on. Steve Evans knows what sort of players he needs for promotion.

Jack played a couple of minutes as a sub on Saturday, but not in the squad last night. Would not be too much of a surprise to find him Boston bound soon. Such a shame as a couple of seasons ago he was outstanding for us. He would not be the first player to look like the real deal as a young lad, then fade away to obscurity.

Some bounce back though as they develop later and find another gear. I remember Les Robinson being let go and going on to make a long career in football. He then returned and captained us to promotion in 01/02.

He was a top player for us when he returned.

Just been reading on the Barrow bbc website their assistant manager as not been seven in the dugout for the last 5 games... when Cox was asked about it he replied it's an internal matter no comment....

Ask Muzza he might be able to put some light on it....
