Were the team that the first team played better than St Andrews, for anyone who watched both games?

In fairness would not want to be Steve first game as will be some disappointed faces, but its a season and plenty of opportunities to stake a claim for a starting place.

I don't think that'll be far off however I reckon Olejnik will be our number 1 this season and I can see Diamond being preferred over Pearce.

In fairness they are the two positions i struggled but went with the above, it is a very close call in some areas (haven't included Atkinson either) but whats great is to see competition around the team and strength in depth which can only push players to want to get into the team (and stay there).

The public outcry of the lack of a proven striker was very prominent. SE even statted that we need one. However, from what those in Malta have seen, will this be a huge stumblling block in our season, or do you think that we have enough in our arsenal?

 It took me a while to work out why all the players had their shorts pulled up so high!
The Stags are for life, not just for cup finals. (or Liverpool).

Atkinson and Digby best players on pitch imo.
Cant wait for top scorer odds to come out as will be all over Angol.
These are my opinions , if you don't like them I have others...

Digby has kind of gone under the radar a bit but while he didn't play a lot still a young lad and came from a championship side he could be a huge find. Shouldn't get bullied looking by the size of him so looking forward to seeing him play.

A few days late but did any club officials have one too many and reveal any transfer targets at the social evening?

Not by me. I've said it a few times that I think he's going to one of, if not the best, signing of the summer.

Players absolute credit to the club tonight. All Stags fans in one pub, players, management and coaching staff all in as well (some players buying rounds for the fans).

Paul Raynor and co on kareoke was fantastic.

Some players didn't arrive till gone midnight, fair play.

Excellent. Sounds like it was a hoot. We're the players allowed a beer or two, even though it's pre season?

They were having more than a beer or two! Alex McDonald was getting the shots in!
