So, Steve Evans agrees with the 71 point target :head ball:

16 points from 8 games, two points a game. Big ask with the teams we've still to play.

If 71 points is enough we would need 13 points from 7 games (1.86 points per game).

PLD.......W.........D..........L.........PTS
7............4..........1....…...2...........13. :D
7............3..........4..........0...........13

Stags League form under Steve Evans is play-off form, PLD23, W11, D6, L6, PTS39, PPG1.7 over 46 games is 78.

Good win today :D

Aye. But do we need to score 4.66 goals per game too?

Mathematically yes, in reality no.

Not currently strong enough in midfield or up front.

No promises for next season but I'm convinced we will be much stronger all round.

The door is now revolving.

Agree fully with oldweststander not quite strong enough and the game at Doncaster will put it finally to bed probably.

A win at Doncaster is needed, but not just that, also wins vs Luton, Pompey, Wycombe and Crawley.

It's almost impossible, its very improbable to the point where we wont and we all know we that we wont, even if we beat Donny - its just too much to ask now.

The inevitable thread about the retained list will be an interesting one this year.

FYI - Leaders Doncaster, guaranteed at least a play-off place, will be promoted if they beat Mansfield on Saturday, 8 April, or if other results go their way.

Hmm.

I don't think we will make the play-off's now. The Exeter game was our best and last chance. I don't think we are quite good enough, but I am sure that Steve Evans will have us making a stronger challenge next season.

Same as last season, we hit a poor run of results after game number 30.

Great input from you Kirkby Stag but I've a distinct feeling you'll be able to put your calculator away till next season on Friday night. The PPG required has steadily risen to the point it's 2.6 per game now, quite frankly an unachievable amount with our forward line.
Next season with Evans's team I expect you be putting stats up on a 'Can Stags make automatic promotion?' thread.
