He was probably the most muscular player we had back then, pretty much lived in the gym.
I'm sure City wouldn't have paid over £500k for a tubster
I think poor old SINA has got himself all confused

Very true Martin
But I'll know who they are n I can punch their lights out if they ever disagree with me.....
N let's not be said I never apologise when I'm wrong
But someone did mention Danny Reet n it may have been him I was thinking of with a bag of sand in his shorts n not Lee Peacock....
So I apologise for being mistaken n giving LP the injustice of bring overweight

Lee Peacock was on fire for a short period of time at the Stags but never seems to get a mention when top ten strikers are listed despite his upward trajectory career after the Stags.
His brother Drew once got a mention one night match by our Stadium announcer, I think he had left his car lights on by mistake

However, I think the long term future is much brighter for Mansfield with John Radford et al's vision for the club. We are nearly self sustainable, Chesterfield won't be that for many, many years to come.
League below now.
Unbelievable

Lewis Walker, Tyler Walker's brother, is on trial at Chesterfield.
Good thing for Des is that the Vanarama has a lot of Tuesday night games if he earns a deal. He'll be able to see both of them that way.

We all know how difficult Chesterfield will find it in the National League, they don't?

To be fair, we didn't at the time.
Reality kicked in relatively soon that first season.

I don't think the National League is as tough now as when we were in it. I have not checked but I think there are probably fewer full time sides. However there are lots of long trips to teams based in the South East (about half the league).

Looking at the league I disagree Tippy the likes of monkey hangers Barnet the Os Wrexham never mind the smaller clubs with wealthy backers it's going to be tough for the sheep n if they finish around 11th they've had a good season....

Also worth noting that they've had a total squad overhaul and a new manager on the back of successive relegations into a league they know very little about. Expecting instant success might be a bit foolhardy.

Since when has being ‘battered around the ring’ been character building??

What with the prices and us being non league, it’s no surprise you’ll sell far more than us this season
Oh so being non-league is an excuse now? I don't remember Spireites thinking that way when they mocked our attendances down there.
Of course I was jesting, of course I knew whatever depths we sunk to, we’d sell far more season tickets than you boys
