Just compare the teams in the league when we were down there to the ones now.

The League looks far more "winnable" now than it ever did when we were down there.

I just hope Salford and Fylde chuck the money about like Crawley and Fleetwood did to keep them down there longer than they want to be.

Salford already have.
They've got that top spot nailed on already.

Didn't we say that we should be winning it when we went down there though?

I just hope the same isn't true for them blue nosed shitbags.

Although Bristol Rovers bettered themselves through the experience, this is not the norm. There are plenty of ex-league clubs who won't be back anytime in the near future such as Darlington, Stockport, York , Torquay etc. Other teams such as Luton took years to steady the ship and start the long road to recovery. Wrexham went down with us and are stilll in the hellhole that is non league.[

Some of those clubs were in better shape than the sheep when they dropped and still there was no magic wand. I do think they have appointed a good manager but unless large numbers of fans back the club through the turnstiles, I feel their stay may be longer and even deeper than ours. I'm looking forward to Alfreton turning them over in the league in the next two or three years.

Martin Riley now signed for Alfreton

Like Louis Brisco a real waste of talent

For whatever reason it didn’t happen , I think both could have played at a higher level. Wish them both well

Apart from the striker they've signed from Bristol Rovers, none of their signings make me think that they will.
Ashley Hemmings is hardly a league winning type of signing.

The lad was always out drinking. First one to leave training.... those at the top and that go further do so because of real hard work. He had some great moments for us and will always remember him when we won the league.

Yep one of the cleanest strikers of the ball you will ever see but always had plenty of timber on him.

Briscoe, on his own dragged us past Wrexham on the final day, and for that I will always like the guy!!!

My memory of Lee Peacock was not of an overweight striker?

You both must have convient memories.....

He always looked like he was carrying a bag of sand around in his shorts.....

Didn't say he was overweight or not a powerful guy his stature to be a striker was a odd shape......

I don’t recall Peacock being a tubster

Danny Reet, however...,.

His photo in the programme weighed 4 stone.

If you watched all our goals from 2012 that was on Stagsnet last week, Louis scored some real crackers that season.

Think you’re mistaken about Peacock. I remember him as a big mobile striker ...hence the move to City

Anyway if that’s how you remember him ...

Lee Peacock overweight?

He was probably the most muscular player we had back then, pretty much lived in the gym.

I'm sure City wouldn't have paid over £500k for a tubster
