It doesn't matter who they appoint. The club is rotten to the core. Danny Wilson went there with a good record and couldn't do much. When they get hit with a fine that dents their budget, a points deduction that rules out promotion or a transfer embargo that scuppers the new manager's plans, they will end up bottom half.

Out of the list of possible candidates, that's the best choice they could have made really.

In one respect it’s a great appointment as he’s worked miracles before on a limited budget, but he’s also failed big time....let’s hope eh? :D

I was being sarcastic. Anyone with any degree of history of the Conference understands that it's a regular expectation of relegated Football League clubs.

The Peak FM guy regularly does that though, asks the same questions but words them differently as if he's never satisfied with the answers. Finally someone has cottoned onto it within 5 minutes of meeting him so he will have to think of better questions in future.

I agree, however.......

(paraphrased)

"have you any knowledge of our youth and do you intend to include them in your plans"?

The diplomat looking to get of on the right footing with the local media and fans would reply with something on the lines of.............

"well I'm ruling nothing out, I'll have a look at them and if they're good enough they'll get a chance"

Allen says....

"I've only been here 15 mins what do you expect"?

Its not about soundbites, or cliches, but thats the sort of attitude that backfires the minute you start to lose a cpl of games. I remember Reg giving Craig a hard time when he was asking questions, it just comes across as arrogant and unprofessional. It'll all end in tears I tell you ;)

fingers crossed eh!!!

wow, what a spectacularly terrible interview by Peak FM. I'm not surprised Martin Allen got so ratty with him. I listened to most, if not all, of Martin Allen's interviews last season at Barnet, all were very reasonable, because he was asked sensible questions by BBC London.

He is regularly like that, as though he hasn't prepared any questions at all and just makes it up as he goes along. He's better as a commentator though from the snippets I've heard of him. He's done an interview with Dave Allen too, and Dave had a bit of a pop at him, but in all fairmess, came across as very honest and straight to the point.

The Peak FM interview with Dave Allen is also interesting. Sorry can't do the techi bit and post it on here.

Dave Allen is very to the point. Says that the last three managers were " chocolate fire guards ". He's convinced Martin Allen will make a success of things.

Is Allen really as bad as the Spireite supporters say ? I'm not so sure.

Brilliant and completely mental by Dave Allen. He's just sat back and watched the rest of the board do an almost impossible job by cocking everything up and turn the Spireites into a non-league club from a League 1 Play Off position with a top 3 playing budget. He almost seems to be taking pleasure in the fact that the rest of the board have made a complete mess of it after disagreeing with his choice as Dean Saunders as manager.

It is costing them £500,000 a year just to service their loans.
