Apparently not so, they have had to pay Forest compensation. He had recently signed a new contract. I think it's a ploy to get supporters back on side.

He's not been made official yet has he?
Branston pickle was still in charge.....a man who said in his pre-game press conferemce that going with someone inexperienced like Lester or Davies wasn't the right way to go....

Just looked at the Spiriete line up last night. I did not recognise the names of any of their players. Unless they invest heavily in January they may well find themselves in non league next season, although by the next transfer window it may be too late to survive. What a shame!

They should've gone for Sheridan with the mess they're in.

actual total nearer 3100,
over 700 season ticket holders decided not to turn up, which are counted in the attendance figure!

How do they know 700 did not turn up? How can anyone be sure unless this figure is also announced or recorded?

A poster on their forum, Moondog has some sort of connection with the club I believe. He reported 3,149 in attendance with 705 unused season tickets.

Pedant alert.

It's Jack Wild (Artful Dodger) and Mark Lester (Oliver Twist) boys.

The Spireites are the gift that keep on giving. Not only has their acquitted rapist left, that we can still sing about. Their new manager's name of Lester has some great rhyming potential!!!

We're gash and no mistake but you're under-performing significantly too.

Getting away from the relegation zone is the height of our ambitions today.

At least that ... Branston's cleared off even if it was kicking and screaming.

Let's hope Lester doesn't have the impact Nolan's had at Clownty. I think they'd lost 10 straight before he took the reins.
