I went to see them in Nov, they were 2nd in the league and there was just over 3,000 there. Compare that with our gates when we were 2nd ........ The recent big gates are primarily down to the cup run, though now they are top they will probably get around 4k, about what we did when we were top! Their family ticket, which is for anywhere in the ground, is £20 and has been very well advertised. As Sneag has said, not long ago they struggled to get 2k.

Most of the population growth is down to the university and the Eastern European influx. (N.B. I am not trying to score a political point there!) Having lived in the county for over 30 years (that's a long exile!) I don't think it's any more affluent than any other similar-sized East Midlands large town. It's only the cathedral and its county status that make it a city.

Put simply, a cup run and cheap tickets for families are bringing in the crowds.

Add to the equation that there's not much in way of competition of rival teams to support in the area too, Grimsby and Scunthorpe being your local derbies.

When they were in the conference about 1995 I think they got very gates then almost 10k at their last home game.

Watching them at barrow on BT sports...

Currently 1-0 down.

We've been mentioned several times already of course, with Cox and rhead connection

I know Lincoln have got a fair few ex Stags but the commo just made the mistake of calling them Mansfield.

Just a reminder of why we don't ever want to go back down there!

Like the look of Alex woodyard for Lincoln, proper no nonsense CM can dish out and just gets on with it when he takes a hit

Barrow were well drilled and played well.

Lincoln were 2nd best from the 5th minute onwards - maybe barring 10 mins around the 50tj minute

I think he's looking well!

Well done to Coxy for bringing Lincoln's good run to an end. We all know that going to Barrow on a Tuesday night is always a tricky fixture. Moussa Diarra at centre half for Barrow had a very good game. He marked Rheady out of the game who ended up being subbed and going off in a sulk. The sponsors gave Barrow forward, Richie Bennett, the MOM but I would have given it to Diarra.

Danny Cowley's interview after the game showed that he is top class.

Well done to the 124 Lincoln fans who made the trip to Barrow as well.

Pleased that they got through yesterday, remarkable achievement for a non-league side.

Top of the league and in the 5th round of the FA cup, I think they have struck managerial gold this season.

Relevant for several reasons.

League 2 related as they are on their way back here.
Stags related as they have loads of our ex players.
Stags related as the are one of our local rivals.

If you don't like it, just don't click on the thread. I've never understood how people can get so wound up by the existence of a thread that they consciously decide to access.

On their way back ? That certain is it?

As for ex players, there's a clue in the word "ex".

It isn't Stags or L2 related. Move the thread.
