On their way back ? That certain is it?

As for ex players, there's a clue in the word "ex".

It isn't Stags or L2 related. Move the thread.

Some are always wound up Paris - see Bellwhiff

The origin of the thread is very clearly Stags related, as is the discussion about relative attendances etc. I also live in Lincoln and am a Stags fan, so there's another link

To beat a top of the Championship Brighton, and after being a goal down at half time is akin to what Bradford achieved at Stamford Bridge a couple of years ago.

The Imps have made a packet out of the Cup so far, £220k in prize money alone. Then factor on gate reciepts and TV money I bet they are well over £500k for the run.
If they draw Man U (only Man U mind) they are guaranteed to be on TV whether it's home or away, this tie would bring in a minimum of a million if at Utd taking the money gained from t'Cup to over £1.5m. But if drawn at home to any other team they will get on TV none the less.

Apparently it's the first time since the 1800's that they've made the 5th round too.

It shows it can be done with your best players out there and breeds such excitement and fervour in the fans.

Or you can just use the Cups as practice games for fringe players like Murray used to.
I hope Evo gives all comps a go next season.

Really pleased for them and I hope they come up, with Barrow. But I have to say they had Lady Luck on their side yesterday.

There's obvious and plentiful relevant content in this thread. Some people need to chilax a bit with the whole 'I hate everyone' routine.

Burnley away is a proper kick in the cream crackers for them, doubt it'll make a TV slot.
Sutton I bet would wish the tie was at the Emirates. Will be on TV, but would've made a packet at Arsenals ground.

I suppose Blackburn are guaranteed a TV slot ;)

I am glad that Lincoln will get lot less money than they hope.

Well done to Lincoln City and the ex-Stags, Matt Rhead, Nathan Arnold, Luke Waterfall and Terry Hawkridge. The latter two also played for Gainsborough Trinity. They also have former Worksop Town player, Jack Muldoon, who should have scored yesterday. A brilliant achievement to be in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, top of the National League Premier and quarter-finals of the FA Trophy. They could end up going to Wembley four times this season although they will be hoping for just the three visits. They have done this as well with the same group of 16/17 players. :)

They are going to struggle to hang on to Danny and Nicky Cowley.

As much as I like to see a lower league team do well against higher opposition, I don't understand this Lincoln love in, they're local rivals. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, & I respect that.

They hate us, remember that - I've been on the end of & heard more derogatory remarks in Lincoln than anywhere else, & they really don't like us. If it was the other way round, I doubt we'd be getting many favourable comments from them. They'd be willing us to get beaten.

It's reminding me of when the sheep got to the semis... I can't imagine many of you backing them on their run.

That said, I'm chuffed for Rheady & Nathan, & the Cowley brothers seem really likeable & capable guys. It's just a shame it's Lincoln.
I backed my car into a cop car the other day, he just drove off, sometimes life's okay...

Think it's a lot to do with plenty of ex Stags being there. Next season the love in will stop as we will be playing them if we keep losing points to bang average sides like The Cods.

You must be gutted

Well done Imps - fantastic achievement. The only lower league side I wouldn't congratulate on a cup run like this is the filth.

Its bound to happen and I bet they'll lose too!

As for the love in, I wouldn't call it a love in I'm just happy to see them doing well as they have a few ex staggies and I want them to get promoted so we have another localish game. It's respect for another team to be able to play in non league football and get into the quarter finals of the FA Cup.

We will go back to hating them if we play them next year dont worry

We could have a Sutton United v Lincoln City Quarter-Final with the winners playing at Wembley!

Could tomorrow night be the end of the Arsene Wenger era at Arsenal?

It very much depends on what team Arsene puts out. If he decides to disrespect the competition and Sutton on their plastic pitch then anything is possible.

You don't think so?

Like them, loathe them, or some where in between, it's a fantastic achievement. Regarding Sutton's plastic pitch I don't think it will bother Arsenal. If it was like the ploughed field we beat West Ham on, that would be a different matter.

If they get Arsenal and play on a different day to us I may try and get a ticket for the game . Great result for them .

Agree. Arsenal have artificial training pitches so they can practice for it. The gap between Arsenal and Sutton is much greater than between Burnley and Lincoln. Sutton are part-time and Arsenal are one of the biggest, richest clubs in the world.

Will be another massive pay day for Lincoln (so long as t'Gooners beat Sutton) as I'd imagine even with reduced admission charge and a not full to capacity attendance they'll rake in 500k as part of their share. TV again also, radio etc they should be rolling in it.
