John Radford: “The first thing to say is they’re both good players and we want them to stay at the club,”

But the same as David says, there is some business involved and we are maybe a touch top-heavy. I certainly don't think we're two strikers top-heavy. But it's a process.

The window is short this season - and I know that Carolyn would kill me if I get rid of Danny Rose. We’ll have to see.

At the moment, the bids that have come in ... I'm not going to entertain."

Question: can you put any sort of figure on the bids?

“They are £300,000 plus on the bids. I'm not saying ... both players are for me worth that at least.”

Just at @mansfieldtownfc 200 Club do. Flitcroft says he’s had bids for @dannyrose_32 and @AngolLee. Radford says he’s not considering at money offered. #stags #mtfc

I asked Flitcroft if @P18NDO figures in his plans at all. He said that he would sell him if a club came in and that he was concentrating on those who want to play for @mansfieldtownfc... draw from that what you will. #stags #mtfc

Replying to @matthalfpenny @mansfieldtownfc

This is so far from the truth. I want to play for this club but unfortunately I am not being given that opportunity.

Rejected Mansfield Town striker bids were over £300,000

Mansfield Town chairman John Radford has turned down bids of over £300,000 each for strike pair Danny Rose and Lee Angol. But he would not rule out having to accept bigger bids if the clubs after them decide to step up their pursuit of the duo.

Radford said he did not want either player to leave the club - top scorer Rose is also one his wife and CEO Carolyn Radford’s favourite players - but he admitted he could end up being a business decision as Stags look to balance the books for the new campaign ahead.

“The first thing to say is they’re both good players and we want them to stay at the club,” said Radford. “But there is some business involved and we are maybe a striker or two top-heavy. It is a process.

Rose top-scored for the Stags last season and was about to return from a tie injury sustained at the end of last season. Stags saw off a host of other clubs to sign young prospect Angol last summer and new manager David Flitcroft recently said he’d seen something in him and wanted to work with him this season.
