Stags capture White from Posh
mansfieldtown.net, 18th May 2017

Mansfield Town are delighted to announce the permanent signing of Peterborough United full-back Hayden White for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old joins the Stags following a successful loan spell from the Posh last season.

Hayden was a consistent performer in a vastly-improved second half of the season for Mansfield and made 18 appearances for Steve Evans’ side after joining in January.

Manager Steve Evans said: “Signing Hayden White on a permanent deal was something which was at the forefront of my mind at the end of last season and it’s fair to say that once again the chairman and the chief executive have been able to agree a deal with Barry Fry at Peterborough that has enabled the lad to join us.

“He needs no introduction from me to the Stags’ fans. He has, in the main, been outstanding [for Mansfield last season], and is a very welcome addition to a very talented group which has been assembled in the dressing room.

“I will say no more as his performances will need to speak for themselves,” he added.

White becomes the Stags’ second signing of the day from Peterborough United, following the announcement of striker Lee Angol for an undisclosed fee.

Peterborough Supporter: Do we have a sell on clause (for Angol) should Mansfield sell him in future?

Darragh MacAnthony @DMAC102 (Peterborough chairman)
Of course plus plenty more for when they are successful. Both deals were excellent deals executed by our DOF (director of football, Barry Fry)! More to come.

Peterborough Supporter: Was Steve Evans involved much?

Darragh MacAnthony @DMAC102 (Peterborough chairman)
Of course, he wanted 3 of our players & was involved putting deals together with Baz (director of football, Barry Fry)/Mansfield CEO.

Hayden White joins Mansfield Town for an undisclosed fee.

Peterborough United full-back Hayden White has joined Sky Bet League Two side Mansfield Town for an undisclosed fee after a successful loan spell with Steve Evans’ side in the second half of last season.

White, who joined Posh on a free transfer from Bolton Wanderers, found first team opportunities limited at the ABAX Stadium and follows Lee Angol to the Stags.

The 22-year-old only made nine appearances for Posh, but 18 with the Stags, scoring once as Town just missed out on the play-offs.

TRANSFER NEWS: White follows Angol to Mansfield
Thursday 18 May 2017

Defender Hayden White became the second Posh player to join Mansfield Town this afternoon (May 18). Following hard on the heels of striker Lee Angol’s decision to join the ambitious League Two club, White also put pen to paper on a permanent deal as well. Again it was for an undisclosed fee. White (22) has been on loan at Mansfield since January, making 18 appearances and scoring one goal. He joined Posh from Bolton Wanderers on a two-year deal in May last year but made only six appearances. White said on Twitter two weeks ago when his loan spell ended: “Just want to say a big thank-you to all staff, players and fans at Mansfield Town. They made me feel so welcome since January! Loved every minute.”
