Adam Murray told Charlie Slater on BBC Radio Nottingham:

“I've walked away from the football club knowing that I've progressed it. It’s stable and in a good place for someone to come in and not have to do much to take it to the next level. We walk away with our head held high.

(asked about abuse from some supporters): “It became second nature. It was nothing new to me (as player, assistant manager and manager). For 99% of the supporters my relationship was fantastic. They know that I gave everything and with the resources and everything else that we were working with we couldn’t have done much more.

“For the club to move on to the next level, they are going to have to up the resources. That’s the view of the chairman and he’s appointed someone who when they have had resources they have been successful. That’s been the call that the club has made and I wish them every success with that.

“Steve (Evans) has had promotions with fantastic resources and from what I’m hearing he’s going to have them resources again so his track record says that he does well and he gets promoted with that so I think it’s a very shrewd appointment.”
