Crewe Alexandra striker Vadaine Oliver has extended his loan at Mansfield Town by a further two months after enjoying his initial month with the Stags.

Oliver featured heavily for the Alex early on in the season, but was allowed to leave on loan last month after falling out of favour at the Alexandra Stadium.

Vadaine made three appearances in his initial spell at Field Mill and scored his first goal last weekend in the 1-0 home victory over Plymouth Argyle.

The deal will run until 19th January 2015 when Oliver is set to return to Crewe.

Steve Davis has told the club’s official web-site that he is pleased that his centre-forward Vadaine Oliver will continue to get game time on loan at League Two Mansfield Town.

Oliver has agreed to remain at the Stags until 19th January after celebrating his first goal for the club against Plymouth Argyle at the weekend. His performance also saw the former Lincoln City man claim the club’s Man-of-the-Match, but with boss Steve Davis looking to re-energise his strike force this week, he is happy for the Sheffield-born Oliver to continue with his loan.

Steve told crewealex.net: “We were happy for Vadaine to extend his loan at Mansfield for another month. They have been pleased with him and it is important for him to go out and get some games.

“We were pleased that he managed to score his first goal for them on Saturday and he is doing well. We are happy for him to continue there as the experience will do him good.

“People tend to forget that he is still fairly young and is inexperienced when it comes to playing League football.

The Crewe boss added: “He is getting that opportunity to play on a regular basis, whilst here his opportunities would have been brief.”
