THREE Football League teams could be relegated to the Conference Premier next season.
League Two clubs have been sounded out about implementing a three-down, three-up system and, to sweeten the new deal, relegated teams will have their parachute payments doubled to £400,000 for two seasons.

League chiefs are worried too many former member clubs have hit hard times after dropping into the Conference, which currently offers only two promotion places.

If League Two clubs agree to the new format within two weeks, it will be put forward to Championship and League One clubs
