The 12th Stag, a group which raises funds to assist manager Paul Cox in the transfer market, have aided the signing with a £2,400 donation.

The giant defender, who stands at 6 ft 7in, has made over 350 Football League appearances in a 12-year-career which started at Oldham Athletic.

The 30 year old has also enjoyed stints at Oxford, Boston, Grimsby and Peterborough, but is perhaps best known for his days at Lincoln City, where he made over 140 starts, scoring 17 goals.

He has finished as a runner up in the play-off finals of English football's fourth tier on three occasions.

Futcher will wear squad number 26. He is available for selection ahead of tomorrow's clash at Braintree Town

Speaking this morning, gaffer Richie Barker said of the move:-

'Mansfield contacted me yesterday and asked if they could take Ben Futcher for a month.Ben has been tremendous for us in being a part of our squad, but its only fair to him that he goes and gets some games. His last game was at Ramsbottom three weeks ago and seeing that we have no reserve games comingup in the next two three weeks, it's a good opportunity for him to go and get some games under his belt. It's also a good opportunity for us to get Andrai Jones back involved again and as well, an opportunity for me to do my old club a bit of a favour.

It's a month at the moment, and they do have a lot of games coming up so there's no doubt he will get some games in.'
