RADFORD EXPLAINS RUSSELL DECISION
11th January 2011 23:36

John Radford in the matchday programme for the Altrincham game, 3 Jan 2011:
"I am aware that some eyebrows were raised when I unveiled Duncan Russell as the club's permanent manager. It is probably no secret, but Dave Penney was in my mind as the frontrunner for the job for much of the interim period. However after exploring Duncan's career in greater detail and speaking to many of the players, it was clear that Duncan was more than capable to do the job. Coupled with the fact that results in his caretaker spell were impressive, along with his contacts in the game and his enthusiasm to succeed for this club, I believe I have made the right appointment."
