Mansfield boss Stuart Watkiss was furious with his players after watching them slip to a 2-0 home defeat to Huddersfield.
Two excellent finishes inside eight second-half minutes from Town's Martin Smith was enough to secure the Yorkshiremen victory.
Watkiss said: "It's no coincidence that when we've carried out our gameplan in the last two matches we've come out with a couple of results.
"Maybe they think they have become better players than they actually are as in this one they decided to do their own stuff and also decided they didn't have to tackle.
"Huddersfield were the better team and we deserved to be beaten. I don't mind losing if we are out-played but I will not accept us being out-battled or out-fought.''
