Due to expected heavy rain throughout tomorrow, the proposed 'snow clearing day' has now been cancelled.

Earlier today we asked supporters to come to Field Mill tomorrow to help clear the rest of the snow from the pitch and prevent it from being waterlogged.

This has now been cancelled as heavy rain is expected from 6am tomorrow morning.

Help clear the snow tomorrow (Saturday)

Mansfield Town are asking supporters to come to Field Mill tomorrow to help clear the rest of the snow from the pitch and prevent it from being waterlogged.

Around 15 supporters helped move snow off the pitch today, but more work is needed to ensure next Saturday's home game against Chester is played.

Chairman Andrew Perry said: "We are very grateful to the fans who turned up to clear the snow, but we appreciate many others may be at work. We would be hugely grateful if people can spare us a few hours tomorrow (Saturday) if they aren't going to AFC Wimbledon."

Simply turn up at the Main Reception tomorrow from 9am with either a shovel, broom or wheelbarrow (or all three)!

Mansfield Town are calling on all supporters to help clear their pitch tomorrow to ensure next Saturday's home game (23 Jan) to Chester City is played.

"The playing surface remains covered with snow but our worry is that it may melt and flood the pitch as temperatures rise," said a club spokesman.

"To prevent this we are asking our fans to spare us any time they have tomorrow (Friday 15 Jan) from 9am to help clear the snow."

"Simply turn up at the Main Reception tomorrow (Friday 15th) with either a shovel, broom or wheelbarrow, or all three!"
