ILKESTON FRIENDLY ON MONDAY POSTPONED

The pitch must be protected in time for Saturday's opening Blue Square Premier game against Crawley. --------------------- Stags chairman Andy Perry told the Chad: "We wanted to give Mez (groundsman Michael Merriman) every chance of making sure that the pitch is playable for the start of the BSP season next Saturday." "Because of the bad weather, we did not think there would be time to get the pitch right for Monday and then again for next Saturday. "If we had had a hot and dry July there would have been no problem, but all this wet weather and a bad forecast for Monday means it is better not to play on Monday." |
