MANSFIELD TOWN have released Tom Shaw, allowing the midfielder to join Blue Square North side Tamworth.

The 22-year-old joined the Stags from Rushden & Diamonds in the summer but has been restricted to eleven substitute appearances so far this season.

Shaw could be in line to make his Tamworth debut against East Thurrock in the FA Cup Third Qualifying Round on Saturday.

Lambs boss Garry Mills told the Mansfield Chad: "Tom is a player that I feel will compliment the squad that I already have.

"He came out of the Nottingham Forest academy and has a good attitude.

He has not been playing regularly for Mansfield and that has surprised me a bit so when he became available I was keen to bring him in.

"He likes to get in the box and puts himself about a bit and I think he will be a big asset."
