WATKISS LOOKS TO BRING IN LOAN PLAYERS
2nd September 2002 21:17

mansfieldtown.net reports that Stags boss Stuart Watkiss is set to bring in new players. Watkiss says: "With our injuries at the moment, I've got to look to get someone in. I'll be looking for a forward and a full back. I'm happy with the squad I've got when they're all fit, but that isn't the case at the moment."
Watkiss has hinted that he will perhaps look to bring in two players on loan deals and perhaps one on a years loan from a bigger club. "We have to look at the finances, but if I have an option and the chairman says that it is viable, then I will pursue it."

Meanwhile on the injury front:
Mark Lever, struggled to play with a rib injury and had to drop out of training today because of the pain.
Wayne Corden is still training but is another who is struggling with a rib injury.
Both Lever and Corden will be monitored closely over the next few days, but it is hoped that both will make it for Saturday.
Bobby Hassell hopes to play for the reserves on Wednesday and if he does so, should claim a place in the squad for the weekend.
David Jervis is a possibility, but he would come in having had no training.
