CHAD website, 15 March 2007

BOSS Billy Dearden has heaped praise on the club's football in the community team for helping Mansfield Town climb to the top of the league!

The club has topped a PFA table in League Two after Field Mill players and staff made an incredible 337 visits to schools in the local community.

The award is recognition for the work put in by the club's football in the community officer Mark Hemingray and all his staff.

Dearden told Chad "Mark's done a tremendous job and the players have supported him at every venue.

"To come top of the league with the PFA is a great achievement for the club.

"It shows what a lot of work we are doing in the community, and it's all beneficial for the future of the football club.

"The lads do all the work in the schools in their spare time, and I think they have done exceptionally well.

"It is helping to encourage these kids to be Stags supporters of the future, and that has got to be good for the football club."
